Description

The University of Huddersfield Physiotherapy Society

Welcome to our page!

When and why was the Physiotherapy Society formed?

Fun Fact: Our Physiotherapy Society is fairly newly formed, and has only been running for four years! This makes it all the more exciting to get involved now, as after working hard to get it all set up and going, we’re ready to hold even more great academic and social events!

What we aim to do:

As a Society Committee made up entirely of Physiotherapy students, we aim to support you as best we can as a fellow Physio Student! To do this, we work together to organise events to compliment your Physiotherapy degree both academically and socially! We aim for these events to include trips to Physio related events and exhibitions, regular socials and group activities, and extra in-service training and workshops!

Why be a part of the Physiotherapy Society?

Getting involved with the events held by the society is a great way to…

  • meet the students in your cohort outside of lecture time and get to know each other better!
  • meet fellow Physio students in other years – this can form a really helpful support network for sharing experiences and advice
  • learn more about the different areas of Physiotherapy by attending talks by guest speakers
  • learn new skills and develop existing ones
  • build confidence
  • meet new people and make friends
  • support and compliment your learning
  • engage with the wider Physiotherapy Profession and community
  • provide and gain support to and from other fellow Physio students

Who currently runs the Physiotherapy Society?

Our Physiotherapy Society is currently run by second year Physiotherapy Students! Here are our names, roles, and contact details if you’d ever like to email us individually (alternatively, you can contact us via social media or email – details below!)

Activity Group Terms and Conditions.

When you enrolled at the University of Huddersfield you opted into our services, which allows you to obtain an Activity Group Membership. For us to provide you with the best experience we will process your data for carefully considered, specific and legitimate purposes which are in the interest of delivering our services and enhancing your experiences as a member of Huddersfield Students’ Union.

Activity Group memberships can be bought at any time throughout the academic year, with all annual memberships expiring at the end of the academic year (31st July). For Societies, the total membership cost will ensure your society membership until this date, and may cover for example the use of facilities, equipment, and trip and transport costs. However, this is subject to each Activity Group’s budget.

This money is paid directly into the Students’ Union and goes straight back into funding Activity Group activities.  To find out more please email the Activities Team – activities@hud.ac.uk

Every membership will have a 50p transaction fee implemented by our website provider. The 50p will be added on to every membership price and you will pay it when you buy your membership, (for example, a society membership may be £10 for the year, but will appear as £10.50 with the transaction fee added).

There is a 28 day cooling off period following the purchase of a membership. Full information about this and refunds can be found in the Student Activities Policy along with other policies, on the Union’s website here:  Governance @ Huddersfield Students' Union (huddersfieldsu.co.uk)

Eligibility:
You must be a current student at the University of Huddersfield to be eligible to join student groups. Students’ Union membership is completely free and you can choose to join or leave at any time through your University enrolment.  Other eligible parties (for example alumni) will need to purchase a Lifetime Membership before they can join Sports Clubs and Societies. More information about this can be found here: Lifetime Membership @ Huddersfield Students' Union

Membership Agreement:
Following online registration, you will receive an email confirmation of membership.

These terms and conditions form the basis of the agreement through which the University of Huddersfield Students’ Union will deliver our services to you as a HSU member.
