Adult Volunteer at Birchencliffe Guides & Brownies

About organisation / project

Birchencliffe Guides meet every Friday evening between 6pm - 7.30pm during term time at St Phillip's Community Centre. We offer a safe, welcoming girl-only space for girls aged between 10 and 14, to try new things, help other people and discover their passions and talents. All while having fun with a group of ready-made friends! If you would like to join us as a leader in training, unit helper or as an occassional helper this is your opportunity to make new friends, develop skills in leadership, communication and team working, which will be impressive additions to any CV.

All volunteers must be over 18 and DBS check will be carried out.

Birchencliffe Guides and Brownies are looking for volunteers to help run each of the units. Minimum commitment is two evenings per month during term time in order for the experience to be beneficial to both the volunteer and the unit. All volunteers are DBS checked.

It is a great opportunity to mix with other leaders and girls, sharing and learning new skills in a fun environment.

Key responsibilities

Helping to run weekly meetings for Guides or Brownies, by planning activities such as making things, playing games, indoor and outdoor cooking and helping girls learn new skills. Must have enthusiasm and a 'can do' attitude.
