Record all Teams sessions where appropriate @ Huddersfield Students' Union

Across the University, most taught sessions are now recorded and made available for students to watch again in UniLearn. The classroom, tutor and audio can all be captured in a system that the University calls HudStream.

The Digital Accessibility Working Group has worked on providing alternate guidance for staff where sensitive issues are discussed in recorded settings. The SU Officers are a part of the Digital Accessibility Working Group that is also working on future accessibility feature with regards to audio and video capture, captioning and subtitles.

Where appropriate, this petition calls for Teams sessions to be recorded and uploaded to Brightspace. Expecting all students to be able to attend is discrimination against disabled students who may not be able to attend, and also sets students who may be working in key roles at a disadvantage, as they won't be able to catch up. Unless the Teams session involves confidential information or topics that could potentially be triggering to students, all Teams sessions should be recorded.
