Going to university as a Disabled student is difficult enough, our student halls shouldn't be making it more difficult. I would like for the university to make sure the preferred, recommended and approved accommodation provider, is accessible to everyone.

This should include:

• Ensuring that every bus is wheelchair accessible and has at least 2 spaces for wheelchairs, and if this is not possible then making sure that a taxi comany with accessible taxis is on contract.
• Positioning of post boxes for adapted flats are at a height accessible to wheelchair users.
• Making sure that the laundry room continues to have an accessible low-level washer and dryer.
• Ensuring that accessible rooms in adapted flats are kept free for disabled users.
• And finally making sure any changes to the accomodation to make them accessible are done in a timely manner.

These are all solutions to issues I have encountered as a Disabled student this year living at storthes, the Disabled students within our university community should be afforded basic neccesities and independence that able-bodied students get as a given.
