After a debate at a Student Panel, the panel did not come to a consensus on the issue and the idea fell. This means that the SU will not take the idea as it stands further.
A lot of universities such as University of Leeds has introduced policies to ban smoking on campus.
Yes, this idea will not be welcomed from alot of people.
In the longer run, this will promote better student 's well being.
Will be friendly to their lungs.
Discourage them to smoke on the university premises.
Encourage them to get involved on the numerous activities that are ongoing on campus and provide a replacement action against smoking.

I personally think this is a good idea but I think there should be designated smoking areas around campus. We don't want to discourage students from being on campus.
I agree don't make the campus entirely smoke free but limit the areas where smoking is allowed
I also think smoking shouldn't be banned entirely - at the very least, there should be more enforcement against people smoking around the entrances to buildings as that is the biggest inconvenience.
