The annual Thank You Awards took place on Thursday 6th April held at Student Central. This was an evening set out to celebrate the exceptional hard work of all staff members at the University of Huddersfield. Making student life better is at the heart of everything we do, so the night was all about saying thank you to our staff for doing just that.
Students put forward a huge number of nominations this year for recognised staff members, who all came together to celebrate the ongoing support and encouragement offered to our students.
The joint initiative the Students’ Union and the Teaching and Learning Institute recognises individuals who have had a positive impact on students’ lives while studying at University.
Charlotte Jackson, Education Officer, said of the event: “It was inspiring to hear so many achievements from across the University. The evening was a great opportunity to reward and recognise the dedication and engagement of staff from both the University and Students’ Union, who work collaboratively towards the same goal: to make student life better.”
This year saw the introduction of the awards: Team of the Year for a group, committee or academic service that goes out of their way to make student life better and Personal Tutor of the Year for the individual who has provided outstanding advice, academic guidance or just a helping hand.

On behalf of the Students’ Union we’d like to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all students who took the time to nominate in the Thank You Awards. It’s great to know that our hard work doesn’t go unnoticed and it also gives us an idea of how to make your student life even better in the future.
