Officer blog new article sabrina

Hi guys!

So this year I have been working closely with the Overseas Registration Department in Pudsey to ensure we do all we can do for International Students, doing what we do best, which is “Making Students Life Better”.

So Rather than International Students having to go all the way down to Pudsey (which by the way is in the middle of nowhere), having to make their own transport down there, we have invited the Overseas Registration Department to Huddersfield Students’ Union to get as many international students who require registration to get registered here on campus.

Below you’ll find more information on international police registration:

WHEN

Tuesday 27th September (9.30 – 3.30)

Wednesday 28th September (9.30 – 3.30)

Friday 7th October (9.00 – 3.00)

Friday 14th October (9.00 – 3.00)

Friday 21st October (9.00 – 3.00)

WHERE

Floor 5

Student Central

University of Huddersfield

Queensgate

Huddersfield

HD1 3DH

APPOINTMENTS

  • The registration sessions will be appointment-based.
  • Appointments will be arranged and managed by the Students’ Union and students can book their appointments online on the Huddersfield Students’ Union website.
  • You can book your appointment online on: http://www.huddersfield.su/events?event_type=&search=international or in person with cash at the SU help desk.

PAYMENT

  • Payment of the registration fee (£34) must be made to the Students’ Union.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED for REGISTRATION

PHOTOCOPIES OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Bearer page of the passport
  • UK entry visa page of passport (which should have an immigration officer’s stamp on it)
  • Issue/expiry details of passport (if not already included on bearer page)
  • Biometric Resident Permit (both sides)

COLLECTION/DISTRIBUTION OF CERTIFICATES

Completed certificates will be taken to/collected by the University/Students’ Union for distribution on campus.  The Students’ Union will email students when their certificate arrives.

NEXT STEPS:

  1. Book appointment online
  2. Make payment online
  3. Get all your documents together
  4. Attend your appointment
  5. Wait for your email from the Students’ Union
  6. Come collect your certificate

PLEASE NOTE:

The Students are currently given 30 days to register although a lot of literature shows that they have to register within 7 days. As long as the Student has paid their fee to the Students’ Union and has an appointment booked (which they must attend) then this will be absolutely fine.
