Elections 2017 - Huddersfield Students' Union Statement 

Across Wednesday and Thursday the Deputy Returning Officer received a small number of complaints regarding the Equalities Officer Election. The decision  was taken to delay the announcement of this result to allow a full investigation to take place. Since then the staff at the Students' Union have reviewed CCTV footage, interviewed candidates and gathered any other evidence to help with the enquiries.

All complaints have now been resolved fully, and no further action will be taken against any candidate. We will be following our members disciplinary process with one campaigner as outlined the the SU Constitution.

The Students' Union is happy that a fair Election has taken place. The Board of Trustees will review this years Elections and consider any improvements that need to be made to the Elections process in future. 

All formal complaints about the Elections must have been received with 24 hours of voting closing, but if any students wish to discuss the Elections further they should contact the Deputy Returning Officer Lydia on l.blundell@hud.ac.uk or the SU President Sabrina on SU.president@hud.ac.uk
