Fees Structure to be made into Three instalment payment plan for International Students.

This Big Idea has now been approved by the university.

 

  • The University of Huddersfield require students to pay a 50% deposit before enrolment, and will now allow unlimited ad-hoc payments between Sept-Jan for September starters, between Jan – May for Jan starters etc
  • Online payment options will allow students to pay as and when they wish to by simply logging onto the student finance portal and paying via their online account.
  • International students who hold a UK bank account can set up pre-arranged automatic Reoccurring Card Payments to the university within this timeframe

As being an international student, I have faced many stressful situations and the foremost important
among them was paying my fees. The flexibility in paying them was none and I have experienced this
myself and have seen other international students suffering from it. The 2 part payment plan is
sometimes quite hard for students to pay. I have investigated various other universities who, mostly
have 3 part payment plan and that felt logical.
I would like to propose a Big Idea on moving the Fee structure from a 2-part instalment plan to 3-part
instalment payment plan. Though the payments will still be made in the same time duration but
breaking it into more instalments can bring students mind at ease and help them pay it more easily
which will help students with their well-being as well.

    I want this to pass, what I think could be even better is a monthly payment plan. I had this last year as an international student.

    It's been tough for me with this payment plan especially now that Form A doesn't work for Nigerians anymore. The exchange rate is 3x what it use to be with my proof of funds. This has made it so hard to raise this funds due to these changes. If possible I would prefer a monthly payment plan. Thank you

    This initiative was absolutely needed. Specially for students who are enrolled for course of more than 1 year . It gets really difficult to pay large amount of fees within limited time and it's always huge amount at once . It would be quite relieving if this initiative is successful.
