Over the last few weeks both the university catering department and the Student Union shop have received unannounced inspections by Environmental Health Officers (EHO).

For the SU shop this was their first visit from EHO’s and it’s a great achievement to be awarded 5 stars.

Catering Services are inspected regularly and have consistently achieved a 5 star rating but are delighted to have retained this accolade.

Attaining a five-star rating is the primary goal of every food business. 5 is top of the scale for hygiene rating, this means the hygiene standards are very good and fully comply with the law.

Both Catering Services and the SU shop are delighted to be able to offer their customers reassurance that they take food hygiene seriously and that their premises and practices are fully certified as clean and safe for students, staff and visitors to purchase food from.
