News story

The winner of our Thank You Awards competition has been drawn and the lucky individual who has won a trip to Amsterdam is psychology undergraduate, Jöy Holden.

Jöy will jet off in early April to the Dutch capital and have the opportunity to take in the city’s coffee shops, bars, museums and restaurants.

Education Officer, Mike McGougan, said: “I’m delighted that Jöy has won this trip and it proves that doing a selfless act such as taking a couple of minutes out of your day to say thank you can have a really good outcome.”

The Thank You Awards are all about recognising people at the University who have helped make our time here special.

Lecturers who go that extra mile with their teaching, inspiring us to work that little bit harder, support staff that mentor and encourage us when things get tough. Or course leaders, who design modules that challenge the way we see the world.

We should never underestimate the positive impact that inspirational teaching, exceptional feedback and excellent student support has, which is why the Thank You Awards are so important.

Nominations are now closed in this year's awards and the shortlists of those up for an award will be announced shortly.
