Student success was recognised on Friday evening at the Students’ Union Awards 2015.
Over 200 attendees headed to the Creative Arts Building (CAB) on campus for the red carpet, black tie event where individual achievement, group success and brilliant campaigning was celebrated.
Students’ Union President, Josh Elderfield, presented several awards during his last public act as president and he said: "The SU Awards this year were a huge success and it was fantastic to see so many students attend to celebrate their achievements over the past academic year.
"The shortlists for all the awards were easily the most contested we’ve ever seen, with judging panels scratching their heads dozens of times to decide who had won each honour.
"The achievements our students have accomplished this year are truly inspiring and admirable, and as President of the Students’ Union their achievements this year have made me proud to be a part of this Union, as I’m sure it’s made them proud."

The ceremony was the culmination of a year of hard work by students and covered 14 Union Award categories, the Student Leadership Awards and Activity Quality Mark accreditations.
It wasn’t just about the winners though and the awards acknowledge all those individuals who have given up their time to help ‘make student life better’ at the University.
The Students’ Union would like to say thank you to all those shortlisted for awards, their guests who attended and the staff and sponsors that made the event possible.
