Seven new clubs and societies have been ratified by the Student Activities Executive (SAE) to take the total number of activity groups available for students to 111.
The new groups are:
Boxing - Aiming to introduce boxing for fitness/recreational and competitive purposes to students across the Huddersfield campus.
Pharmaceutical Chemistry - An academic based society wanting to improve prospects for students and form a webpage for Q&A related to the course and its contents.
Musical Theatre - Already starting with over 30 members listed in their application, they will prove to be a popular society. Their aim is to help others build on their creativity and explore new aspects of theatre by producing successful shows to represent Huddersfield Students’ Union.
Huddersfield Cooks - Bringing students together over a love of cooking/eating and helping them to explore new cuisine.
BreakJazz -The Students’ Union has always looked to expand our range of dance societies available and this will be sure to turn heads. Breakjazz takes on different forms of dance and merges them together in the hope of representing the Union in various competitions up and down the country.
Madinah - Aims to represent the spiritual, inner dimension of Islamic worship and provide a platform for students to express this with people of a like mind.
Students for Sustainability – They are aiming to raise awareness of issues and develop projects on campus to improve sustainability, not only at the University but in the community as well.
All the new clubs and societies will have their webpages up and running on the website from next week - this will likely be after Varsity.
