Hey everyone,

YOU DID IT! Woo! Huge congratulations to everyone who has received their A Level results last Thursday.

We know the wait has been long and scary but it’s all over now, you are officially going to be a University of Huddersfield student! Don’t worry, you made the right choice; you’re now part of the family.

Get ready to receive your new student card, which means yes, you get student discounts for another 3 years. Free cheese burgers at McDonalds, anyone?

You are all probably sat here wondering; “What is a Students Union and who are these people?” We are your elected officers for the next twelve months – we are your voice and are here to represent you!

The Students’ Union puts on all your events (including Freshers’!); it’s the place to join sports clubs and societies, volunteer in the local community and get involved in all kinds of ways.

We also have our in-house Advice Centre which is a great place to get help and is always there to support you. The Students’ Union has everything you will ever need; it is a one-stop shop!

September is coming, and whether you are living at home funded by the BOMAD (Bank of Mum and Dad) or taking the plunge to live in one of our various student accommodations, university is a big new start! We want to make sure you are all settled and feel at home no matter what. If you still need a place to live then visit HudLets to find your perfect home.

September is one of the most exciting months here at Huddersfield as we have so many great opportunities for you to get involved including Freshers’ Week and Give it a Go Week (more ot come on that one). It’s a great chance for you to meet new people and make friends for life.
