My names Jake Rodgers and I’m your newly elected Activities Officer for this upcoming year!

Our events team in the Students’ Union has been working hard all summer preparing for what’s bound to be the biggest and best Freshers’ yet... We are just 55 days, 21 hours and 31 minutes away, after all.

I can’t give away much more than that right now, but stay posted because on Thursday August 10^th we’ll be releasing our full Freshers’ 2017 programme.

After seeing first-hand the preparation, time, and effort that has gone into Freshers’ 2017, I’m especially excited for HudLive – our amazing mini festival at Storthes Hall!

With previous headliners including DJ Fresh, Sigma and Sub Focus, I’m convinced that this year will be even bigger!!! Trust me, as I said – stay posted 👀

One thing I can reveal is that the Student Stage will be returning... giving you an opportunity to perform in front of a potential crowd of over 1,500 students.

Whether you’re a DJ, acoustic artist, rapper, band-member, anything! We’re delighted to offer you the opportunity to showcase your talent.

So, if you’re interested in performing at one of the Students’ Unions biggest ever event, e-mail su.events@hud.ac.uk with your university ID number and some of your material – whether it’s a Soundcloud link, YouTube link or anything else you may think of.

The deadline for your submissions is Friday August 11^th and you’ll find out whether you’ve made the cut by Thursday August 24^th.

It’s important to remember that if you were to be successful you have to provide your own equipment on the evening.

I can’t wait to get listening to what our students have to offer and make this year’s Student Stage the best we’ve ever had!!!
