It’s the first week back after Christmas which is always a struggle – sigh. We know it can be a tricky transition back into student life but we’re here to help! We’ve made a couple of little ch-ch-ch-changes (did you sing along? we did) this term already that are sure to make a big difference to your student life:

First up, Course Reps!

Clued up Course Reps? Who are they and what exactly is their job? The clue is in the name – Course Representatives!

We all have ideas on how we can improve our course. Be it introducing print outs of all lecture notes for students at the University of Huddersfield or the popular Lecture Capture. That’s where your Course Rep comes in!

They work with academic staff and fellow students to improve the quality of teaching on your course and to make changes both big and small that make your student life better.

Got a great idea and want to talk it over with your Course Rep? Good news – you’re just a few clicks away from getting in touch with them!

We’ve made a few tweaks to your Student Hub – have you noticed? We wanted to make it super simples for you to contact your Course Rep so we teamed up with the University of Huddersfield to update your Student Hub with all their details –  just click the following link!  

SU Charging Lockers  

Earlier this year Simon Roberts posted an idea on The Big Ideas page asking for Charging Lockers to be placed in the SU building, giving students a place to power up while they attend lectures.

The idea picked up an impressive 73 votes so the Students’ Union decided to make the change a permanent fixture, and what started out as just an idea is now a reality that should help make everyday life for students that little bit easier!

Students depend heavily on their digital devices to help them study, and it’s vital that there’s a convenient way to always keep these devices charged and ready for use; the Charging Lockers aren’t just about keeping you connected, but about helping you to achieve in your studies. 

So if your phone, tablet or laptop is running low on battery just head to our brand-new Charging Lockers, where you can charge your phone in a completely secure location without any cost! You can pick up a key from the Students’ Union Front Desk, and the lockers are on Floor 5, Student Central.
