Huddersfield storm Varsity to retain the Cup

What can I say…the Varsity Cup is staying here, in Huddersfield, where it belongs!

We went out this year with one job in mind, to win Varsity and defeat Bradford on their own turf...and did we do it. For some of you it may seem like forever ago since you saw or heard of an away Varsity win and rightly so, it’s been five long years since either Huddersfield or Bradford have been defeated at home. In that time, we’ve seen some almighty clashes between our sports teams even looking back as close to last year where it all came down to the final Rugby Union game.

All of our teams and competitors put everything on the line for Varsity and for Huddersfield, with that in mind…THANK YOU. Thank you to all the teams, thank you to all the competitors and a massive thank you to the supporters and crowds at every game and at every venue. The venues that I did manage to get to always had strong Huddersfield crowds shouting and cheering on our teams and there is no doubt that your support helped us win Varsity 2018.

Once again, thank you to you all. Now we look ahead to next year where we will also celebrate 30 years of Varsity history and heritage! #BradfordWho
