Hey everyone!

Jake and Tom here, just to let you know about some of the amazing events that we have lined up for Give It A Go Week in September!

Jam-packed with over eighty events penned in over the course of the week. Commencing on Monday 11^th September and finishing up right before Freshers’ Festival 2017 on Sunday 17^th September.

Give It A Go will be making a flying start with one trip you definitely don’t want to miss, visiting iFLY Manchester for an exclusive Indoor Sky Diving Experience. Making an absolutely huge saving, the experience costs only £20.00 with your coach travel from the University included.

After the success of last year, the annual FIFA Tournament will be returning to our Give It A Go programme. Think you’ve got what it takes to be the FIFA King or Queen at uni? Enter now! In order to compete, you’re required to register online and pay a £1.00 entry fee on the night.

The Great British Film Night only gets greater year on year, and on Thursday 14^th September the Students’ Union brings you two British film classics! Our first film is Notting Hill, an award-winning romance story that is sure to melt your heart if you’ve never seen this fairy-tale before (for some reason). The second film brings you Mr Sauvé himself, James Bond, in the amazing Skyfall. This action packed cinematic experience is one you won’t want to miss!

On Friday 15^th September we’re getting our spell books out and flying down to London to visit the Warner Bros Studios to have a magical day of all things Harry Potter! This access all area trip will take you from the Hogwarts Express to the Forbidden Forest and all things in-between! Our very own Costume and Cosplay Society will be exploring all thing theatrical in the studios including a special costume exhibit only open until September 27^th and thoroughly encourage anyone to come along. This trip is open to all students and even muggles (non-students) so grab your wands and Give It A Go!

Fancy something more laid back? We’re holding an International Welcome Party just across from the University campus at Zetland! It will be an evening with food, drinks and (most importantly) karaoke with an international twist!

Our Give It A Go programme is packed full of fun things that not only we as a Students’ Union are putting on for you, but your own students are too!

If you’re looking to make friends and socialise at university, your best bet is to join a Society! Our Salsa Society will be hosting a taster session at Revolution the town centre on Thursday 14^th September and is a great opportunity to meet new people here at Huddersfield.

The Archery Club have organised a free taster session at their training centre open for students of all abilities to come along, grab a bow and shoot some arrows! This experience will take place on Thursday 14^th September and is an amazing opportunity to get involved with one of our many sports clubs!

To top it all off, we'll soon be launching our Interactive Map which signposts exciting sights, festivals and attractions in and around Huddersfield so you can Give It A Go all year-long! There are lots of things to see and do, some are seasonal and some all year-round – all are perfect for meeting new people!
