Huddersfield Student Victim Support volunteers have been awarded certificates of accreditation which recognise their skills and knowledge as Victim Support volunteers.

To gain accreditation volunteers undertook a training programme which prepared them for situations that occur when working with victims of crime.

They completed various steps to gain their accreditation including learning support skills and the value of equality and inclusion. This ensured that volunteers could deliver a service to both staff and students and support them appropriately.

The accreditation also demonstrates the diverse range of skills acquired by volunteers and therefore will be a very useful tool for applying for jobs after graduation.

Our accredited volunteers run a Victim Support drop-in clinic which is open to staff and students every weekday from 13:00-15:00 in the Students’ Union Advice Centre.

For more information about the service visit Huddersfield Student Victim Support’s webpage or you can follow them on Twitter here.
