Two Huddersfield University students have established a manufacturing and distribution network to help meet the demand for PPE during the Covid-19 outbreak.  The network has been created from the contacts they made by establishing the National 3D Printing Society for Students’ Unions in 2018. Younes Chahid and Mason Rowbottom have been working with Medical Supply Drive UK, and have assembled a manufacturing and distribution network to help meet the demand during this national pandemic.

Currently there are 600 members from across the Country, all ready to start printing. It is hoped that the first sets of PPE will be arriving with the NHS on Monday 6^th April. Any 3D print sent by makers will pass through a sanitisation process. Makers or companies with 3D printers are welcomed to visit the N3DPS website to know more.

The design has been adapted from other designs and allows the manufacture and assembly of the PPE without the use of rubber bands, meaning that it can be sanitised more easily.
