By Bike

There are loads of great cycle routes into the Union with minimal traffic and some great scenery to boot!

You can also plan your own route to us using a cycling journey planner.

When you arrive, you’ll find plenty of places to park your bike including double-storey enclosed cycle shelters with multiple locking points so you can store your bike safely and securely.

By Bus

Huddersfield is extremely well connected, with multiple bus routes to and from all nearby towns/cities. Some of the main services are as follows:

Leeds - Huddersfield: X6

Wakefield – Huddersfield : 231, 232

Dewsbury – Huddersfield: 202, 203, 262

Bradford – Huddersfield: X6, X63

Halifax – Huddersfield: 503

Holmfirth – Huddersfield: 310, 316

When you arrive in Huddersfield, the FreeTownBus serves all of the town’s key locations (including the University) and runs approximately every ten minutes.

By Rail

Train services in the area are also excellent, with Huddersfield station providing links to a large majority of the UK’s major towns and cities.

By Car

Due to our proximity with the Town Centre, there is limited car parking available at the University. Please contact us in advance of your visit and we’ll be able to give you some advice.

On Foot

From the North (Bradford Road A641)

Follow A641 south towards Dewhurst Road
Turn Right onto Lower Fitzwilliam St/A62
Turn Left onto Southgate/A62
Continue to University on the left.

From the East (Wakefield Road A629)

Follow A629 West to Queensgate Roundabout
Turn left and you will see the University on your left.

From the West (A640)

Walk south-east on A640 towards Fitzwilliam St
Slight right to stay on Trinity St/A640
Continue onto Westgate
Continue onto Kirkgate
Turn right onto Southgate/A62
Follow A62 and turn right at the roundabout, the University will be on your left.
